I would like to have a file I could email an another photographer and let them open it on their iPad and make changes and send it back to me.11 votes
Sounds like a great idea!
Can you add Candels to the Other ligths sources?3 votes
We’ll consider this addition for a future gear library update!
It is hard to browse favorite diagrams at this moment. Can You make dedicated page for favorite diagrams (full width) or more space to see them (pressing see more is frustrating) . Also bigger thumbnails would be great :)2 votes
Yes, we have to make something nicer indeed!
Thanks for your feedback :)
- saving other people diagrams to my account
- add a wall to the objects
- add a mirrorless to the objects ;)
This tool would show relative heights for each light, panel or head from the camera's point of view. An outline would show something behind a panel that would otherwise block the view. These would be tied to the overhead lighting diagram. When one moves something here it moves in the camera POV as well2 votes
Each element (ex. Umbrella) should say if it is a silver, gold, white umbrella, instead of just "bounce".
Or if I put an octabank in the layout it needs to say "on boom" if it is not usually on a regular stand.1 vote
Thanks for this feedback, we’ll try to include a feature to improve differentiation of diagram elements
Sylights is an awesome application for keeping track of all the lighting setups that we as photographers routinely use. Nevertheless, I think it could be a lot more useful for not only saving our own setups, but for saving also other photographers' lighting setups. I constantly research and see what other photographers do with their gear and I wish I could add those lighting setups to my collection and keep'em forever for future reference.1 vote
Much like Microsoft Visio, I would like to be able to add templates for additional objects I and others create. There are so many items I would like to add to a scene, like props, cars, couches, etc. I would pay $15 for a full featured app like this. By the way, the app you created for the iPad is about 70% there, a few tweaks and you could be earning money with it.1 vote
How about adding light panels? These are not reflectors rather shoot through diffusion panels. They would be brighter than the white rflctr.
Light panels are not reflectors. They are diffusion panels and would be brighter on the diagram than the silver or white reflector panel.1 vote
This site won't get any donations from me not until I can print my diagram.1 vote
When I post some thing to flickr or tumblr it automaticly post to my facebook page. I think Sylights is a great internet resource and would like to see more people using it. Is there a way to add this function here.e.g. every diagram i save posts automatically on face book in my profile.1 vote
Thanks Scott for this suggestion, an autopost feature could indeed be useful. We’re going to look into this :)
